Going the Distance

Today we climbed a million steps

Today has been a good day. I'll be posting pictures of crowds and lots of people soon. We visited the Shiva Shrine and received the blessing of the Guru there. It was very impressive. We also visit another mosque and received a warm welcome. And, if any of you have read or heard of the book that says Jesus' tomb is here, we saw and photographed it today. I am going to turn this over to Bob because the guards at our house lock everything up and out in thirty minutes. We got our clothes and I'm going on a trek by horseback when we get back from Leh. We will go to the cabin Thursday so I hope to have more time on the computer.

Here's Bob!!!!! Thank you Jessica for walking Chester.
Driving here is a game of inches. Most of the streets are medieval lanes that require surviver skills and profound Patience, an exestential indifference to spending 45 minutes getting one block--because someone decides to park and two cars coming from different directions decide to confront one another and four more pile up behind them and someone else decides to unload his truck, a world of blasting horns, pot holes, piles of garbage, dust, street dogs, ravens, here and there a cow.

I love all the pictures - it looks like you're having a great time.

I've got many questions for you when you get back.

I'm trying to find out exactly where you are on Carrie's map. Can you mark it?
I'm glad you were blessed today. I'm sure it's good for you.

. . .see now, Bob, NOW that's what I'm talking about. You've taken one moment and expanded it into an experience, or, compressed into reality...
Carrie encapsulated the whole day.
(...and do tell about your horsey ride) Actually you two are a good match.
What am I talking about? ...well I'm putting my notes from home here and your in your e-mail in case you're only reading one of them. So, if you read it here you don't need re-reading on e-mail.
Also, there is some place or way comments can be read on your blog - that needs figuring out.

NOTES FROM HOME-
List of things still to do:
Check G-mail account
Call AP and talk to outdoor editor (what’s her name?)
Get in DDA article to Times
Edit short reel for Jeff Davis Parish meeting next week.

Back from Vegas!
Things done.
*Put chlorine in pool last night
*Met Roger, cut grass Tuesday afternoon
*Paid Bug Guy
*Collected beau-coups pieces of mail
*Keeping to the Chester evening walk exercise
*General maintenance of pets and palace.
All is well - (non eventful, being a good thing)

Now for the murky side . . .
* Erica is having to come in 7:30 and stay till 4:15 everyday – Tracy’s DH rules.
Moral (she says) is lower than it should be (toilet, I interjected) she made no comment.
*Your mom came over while we were on a 10 hour shoot yesterday. Then she did not want to leave. Carla came and got her. – She really likes Chester but I’m not sure the feeling is mutual.
*Oh, and I’ve moved the air up to 77 degrees. Ask Bob if that’s okay with the paintings.

So, that’s the local perspective,
Now!
What’s up wit-U?!

Carla and I have been keeping up on your entries and wonder why your keeping the good stories out. We know you got ‘em.
Give 'em up girl …small wonders of the day; one or two.
I’m still curious about what you’re eating.
Have you gotten a bargain on anything?
Are you guys wandering in air-conditioning or wearing wet bandannas all the time?
What are some stories about the pictures you take?
What’s the weather like?
Can you communicate easily? (or not)
I know you’re busy, or, enjoying just lounging at sunset. Only know,it will be more work to do it when you get back. I know – that’s another thing on my “To Do” List: …map out on blog ‘06’s road-trip.

Anyway, hope all events are fun-filled and interesting.
Write when you can.

One more note:
When you mom was here, and it looked like she was in for the evening, I brought her into your office and showed her your blog. We read some of the entries and looked at the pictures. It seemed that she was listing and looking for awhile. But that’s over now;)

Too bad you did not receive my first writing. Somehow, it did not go thru to you.
Anyway I put some of it on your e-mail just incase.
I think I started off saying "That's what I was talking about with Bob's writing,; you managed to take a tiny moment and expand it to an reality experience, or, take an experience and crush it down to encapsulate reality. And you Carrie keep to the big picture and the general events of the day. I think you two are a good mix.
We see if this one goes through.

I woke this morning to a baby possum in trapped in one of the empty tan garbage cans. Carl went on the movie shoot this morning and missed it. I'll wait till he gets back to show him and then let him go somewhere else.
peace to you travel bugs.

Hey Bob....except for the cow, doesn't this sound like San Pedro at one time..???? before they made some of the roads one-way,did some paving, put out some garbage cans......even though many locals still don't seem to realize what they're for....

Great to be following along on your Great Adventure....!

Love, Kay
